SPDU is the entry level Basic+ product line from RNX - never again you have to decide between a "Basic PDU" or a "Smart PDU".
Basic+ is the new Smart.
A PDU you can depend on for distributing power to critical equipment at an
accessible price, the SPDU Basic+ delivers reliable performance with simplicity
in mind. For those who need more control and insight, the SPDU Basic+ can be upgraded to unlock inlet metering and network connectivity.
How it works
The SPDU Basic+ is built with the hardware to support advanced functions, but these remain dormant until the SPDU Controller is installed.
Upgrading is easy. Pinch the release tabs to remove the blind cover and slot in the SPDU Controller. No tools are required – simply snap out the blind cover and snap in the controller.
The process takes only seconds and can be done with just one hand.
Once connected, the SPDU Controller activates the internal inlet metering circuitry of the SPDU Basic+, enabling real-time monitoring of electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power, and energy consumption at the input source.
The SPDU Controller additionally provides the SPDU Basic+ with network connectivity, allowing remote access and monitoring via standard protocols.
This approach allows the SPDU Basic+ to be deployed initially as a cost-
effective, non-networked device, and later upgraded in the field.
